A lot of people probably spent their weekend working on homework and relaxing. I went to an anime convention at Bowling Green State University.

The convention was held at the BGSU Student Union, with most people there for National History Day.

Instead of nervous teens waiting for their project to judged and evaluated, there were people of all ages there dressed as their favorite characters from shows and movies like Sailor Moon, Gravity Falls, Adventure Time, Steven Universe, Beetlejuice, Suicide Squad and Doctor Strange.

There were people dressed as video game characters from Assasin’s Creed, the Legend of Zelda, or Undertale.

This was a family friendly event where people went to hangout, maybe get a bite to eat at the Anime Cafe where the waitresses and waiters dressed like they were from an anime, look at all the art and toys and books that people brought to sell.

Or you could enter a skit/costume contest to show your acting or sewing and finding skills. There were panels where people dressed and acted like the characters , you could ask them questions or listen to whatever stories that they may have. You could dance, play games, or make new friends because you saw that you both were dressed as characters from the same movie, show, book, or video game.

All in all, this was a great experience, especially if you want to try your hand at cosplaying and want to make new friends.
